How much does Dropbox cost?
All new Dropbox accounts and downloads, including the desktop and mobile apps, are totally free.
Dropbox accounts start with 2 GB of free space. You can earn more free space in a variety of ways. For example, by referring your friends to Dropbox, you can earn up to 16 GB of additional space.
If you ever run out of space, you can upgrade your account with a monthly or yearly subscription to a Dropbox Pro 100 GB, 200 GB, or 500 GB plan. If you're an organization or group looking to share an even larger amount of space together, you may be interested in Dropbox for Business.
How can I get more space?
We make it simple to get loads of space really fast. If it looks like you're running out of Dropbox space, here are some ways to get more space:
Upgrade your account
If you ever need even more space, you can always subscribe to Dropbox Pro, available in 100 GB, 200 GB, and 500 GB plans. Do you need more than 500 GB or are you running a company or organization? Check outDropbox for Business; it's designed specifically for businesses, non-profits, and educators.
Earn some free space
We’ve put together some quests and various fun things you can do to earn some extra space for free; things like referring your friends, taking a tour, or sending us feedback. You can even earn space (1 GB!) by linking Dropbox with your Mailbox for iOS account. See all the ways to earn free space by visiting our Get More Spacepage.
How do I sync files between computers?
Syncing your files between all of your computers, smartphones, and tablets is what Dropbox is all about. All you have to do is install the Dropbox desktop application and sign in using the same login on all your devices.
If you've already installed Dropbox, simply adding files to your Dropbox folder will automatically sync the file to your Dropbox, which means you can open it from any other computer, smartphone, or tablet that also has Dropbox installed.
If you'd rather sync some files with other people on other Dropbox accounts, that's easy too; just create a shared folder instead.
That's it. Dropbox will watch your Dropbox folder and automatically make sure your files are the same no matter where you access them. No buttons are needed and no further settings are required. You don't have to do anything.
How do I upload files from my phone or tablet?
The Dropbox mobile app gives you different ways to upload files from your phone or tablet to your Dropbox. Once files are uploaded, they will sync with Dropbox on your computer and all your other devices.
Upload photos and videos automatically
Dropbox can automatically upload photos and videos taken from your Android device. This feature is calledCamera Upload, and you can turn it on when you first install the app or by going to the app's settings. You can also choose whether to allow uploading when your device is connected to a cellular network.
Upload photos and videos manually
First navigate to the location within your Dropbox where you would like to put these files. Then tap the menu button in the top-right corner of the screen and choose Upload here. You can select files from your gallery or your phone's local memory.
To check the upload status for files, just locate the file in your Dropbox and look at the progress bar underneath the file's name.
Uploading to a shared folder will also allow those you've shared the folder with to see your photo or video immediately on their computer (or even on their mobile device if they also use Dropbox).
"One place for all your stuff, wherever you are."
Dropbox is a home for all your photos, docs, videos, and files. Anything you add to Dropbox will automatically show up on all your computers, phones and even the Dropbox website — so you can access your stuff from anywhere.
Dropbox also makes it super easy to share with others, whether you're a student or professional, parent or grandparent. Even if you accidentally spill a latte on your laptop, have no fear! Relax knowing that your stuff is safe in Dropbox and will never be lost.
Dropbox works hard to make sure that all your stuff is the same wherever you happen to be. Start a doc from a computer at school or work, make edits from your phone on the way home, then add finishing touches from a tablet in your living room.
With apps available for all your computers, phones, and tablets, you can show off videos, automatically upload photos, or open documents from anywhere.
Dropbox makes sharing easy. Invite your friends, family, and teammates to any folder in your Dropbox, and it'll be as if you saved that folder straight to their computer.
You can send people links to specific files, photos, and folders in your Dropbox, too. This makes Dropbox perfect for team projects, sharing party photos with friends, or recording your band's debut album.
